Playing with Paper
I started my publishing career when I got a job at Esquire Philippines, one of the leading international men’s magazine titles. Here, I worked as the Associate Art Director with the top writers and creatives in the Philippine industry, learning from them and continually improving my skill set and eye for beautiful imagery. During my stay in Esquire, I was tasked to help our Style Editor come up with innovative fashion editorials that challenged the norm. I remember the team always pushed for visionary work. After Esquire, I became Art Director with Hinge Inquirer, where I worked on titles like F&B Magazine and Northern Living. Hinge Inquirer had a strong sense of contemporary culture and design—it was the perfect next step for me. Here, I was able to hone my skills further, challenging art direction for print in a new light.
